Dried moss is live moss that has been allowed to air-dry, allowing larger volumes to be stored for longer periods. Dried moss will spring back to life once hydrated.
Preserved moss is moss that was once living but has had its water content replaced and its leaves dyed so that it remains fluffy, green and maintenance free forever.
Oh, and then there's artificial moss. But you won't find any of that here. Let's be real, people!
